“Wisdom is knowing what to do next, skill is knowing how to do it, and virtue is doing it.”
Synopsis: Because the Speak Life programs focus on helping students determine their future and the path needed to success, the college preparatory session is vital. Students will learn everything from how to apply for colleges and financial aid, to the importance of SAT and ACT scores, GPAs, and why a college degree matters. College tours are also available through this program to help students get a real-life look at post-secondary education. In the sessions, students will review the FASFA, create mock budgets for college tuition and expenses, learn about financial resources, identify five colleges that they are interested in and the admissions requirements necessary for each, and learn the importance of a degree, especially as it fits their career choice.
