“It is bad enough that people are dying of AIDS, but no one should die of ignorance.”
Synopsis: According to the CDC, more than 1.2 million people in America are living with HIV, with one in eight of those people being unaware that they are infected. The Speak Life program on HIV/AIDS awareness is an integral part of physical well-being and remaining healthy to achieve future goals. Led by representatives from AID Atlanta, the CDC, and members of the Speak Life staff, this one-hour session will open a discussion on the epidemic of HIV/AIDS in a student’s community as well as the knowledge currently available on how the disease spreads and kills others. Students will be able to identify how it’s transmitted and will learn how to protect themselves to protect their future.
